Dabi has been recognized internationally for his work as a Grand Master Drummer . He is now one of the most respected and sought after drummers of his generation. He has toured the world, and has appeared on national televisions around the globe, including a featured spot on NHK and MTV.

Between 1990 to 2002 Dabi has toured internationally performing in dozens of high-profile festivals and independent tours of USA,Germany,Italy,Spain,France, Canada,India,Austria Scadinavian,Japan, South Korea ,Poland,Jamaica,Holland and United Kingdom

Dabi is a multi-percussionist, genius of djembe improvisation with almost superhuman clarity and speed.

Born in Lagos,Nigeria, West Africa,to a family of Master Drummers of the Yoruba tribe.( Chief Are-Ilu of Iseyin town in Oyo State of Nigeria)

From an early age dancing and drumming formed an intrinsic part of his life. He was raised in the Yoruba tribal culture, one that works, worships, lives and breathes to the beat of the drum, which has been primarily used to transmit traditional knowledge.

The drum is the focal point of Dabi s life story, and as well his link to the western world. After his graduation from the University of Montpellier, France, he pursued a brief career as a graphic artist, and then returned to traditional African music.

In 2006 ,he embarked on a mission to show the world that African drums (especially talkingdrums) can blend into any musical background,proving this by collaborating with the renowned British TV composer Howard Goodall and Steven Morgan s "We Are The Burning Fire". It was a huge success.

母国、ナイジェリアでは、ガンガン太鼓から、バタ、アクバ、グドゥグドゥ、アシコ、ベンベ、コンガアサカラ、アギディグボにいたるまで、あらゆるジャンルの太鼓専門家として知られ、１９９０年から２００２年まで、国際的に多くの実力者の集まるフェスティバルやツアーに参加、アメリカ、ドイツ、イタリア、スペイン、フランス、カナダ、インド、オーストリア、スカンジナビア、日本、朝鮮、ポーランド、ジャマイカ、オランダ、イギリスなどで活躍しました。ヨルバ伝統のもと、儀式の為の太鼓奏者として終わることなく、柔軟かつ国際的器量のある大演奏家です

ダビは国際的に認められるシンガー、ダンサー、グリオ(西アフリカの伝統的口誦誌人）です。ヨルバ族マスタードラマー(アアレイル王室、つまり、ドラマーの総裁）の家系のもとに生まれ、幼少期より、ドラムとダンスが彼の人生の本質をつくりあげていました。ドラムの息ぶきとともに、労働、礼拝、生活がなりたっているヨルバ族の文化の中で育まれ、それが伝統という知識を自然に体で受け継ぐ礎となったのです。

ドラムはダビの人生を語る際に不可欠なもので、全ての焦点であり、西欧文化への連結点ともなっています。フランスのモントぺリエ大学卒業後、グラフィックアーティストとしての道に進み、その後アフリカ民俗音楽の世界に戻り、以来、ダビは、エンターティナー、楽器奏者、振付家、ダンサー、講師として、世界的な評価を受けました。彼は、大都市から森林地帯の隅々まで、母国全ての文化、音楽を吸収し、自分の音楽を創りあげました。
